Balancing refers to the distribution of elements in the design. It is one of the basic principles of designing. A balanced design is visually attractive and can act as a guide in the design.
Bleed:
These lines are ‘extra’ lines that are left out purposely in case the cuts are not proper while printing
Grid:
The even columns and rows with an organized framework that help designer to align design elements are termed as the grid.
Typography
Typography:
It is generally the systematic and artistic arrangement of type in such a way that looks visually appealing and readable. Typography involves various fonts and typefaces.
Kerning:
Kerning refers to the process of adjusting a space between specific character.
Leading:
Space between the lines of a paragraph is called Leading.
Tracking:
Adjusting the spaces throughout the word is called Tracking.
Color
Color Theory:
This involves the study of colors and how they affect people emotionally and mentally. It also includes the study of how to choose colors according to the environment.
CMYK:
CMYK stands for Cyan Magenta Yellow & Black, a color model used in color printing.
RGB:
Color model for web images.
Cool Colors:
Colors that have a calming effect on the viewers. (Blue, Greens & violets)
Warm Colors:
Colors that have energizing and strong effect on the viewers. (Red, Yellow & Orange)
Tint:
Pure Hue added to white is called tint.
Tone:
The Light or dark shade of the color is called tones.
